The Silver Chanter Trophy was kindly donated in memory of Lachlan McCabe, winner of the R.U. Brown Piobaireachd Society Gold medal contest on 3 occasions ('83, '84 & '85) and sadly passed prematurely after a lengthy battle against cancer.
The Silver Chanter competition consists of two grades being "restricted" (those players of silver medal standard and below) and "unrestricted" (silver and gold medal standards).
